Laser Toning
-
Laser toning uses the Toro's Q-Switched Nd:YAG technology, delivering picosecond and nanosecond pulses across three wavelengths (785nm, 532nm, and 1064nm). These short, high-peak-power pulses create a photoacoustic effect that breaks down excess pigment and melanin in the skin, while also gently stimulating collagen renewal. Because the energy targets pigment with minimal heat, it evens out tone and texture without damaging the surrounding skin.
-
Laser toning helps fade sun spots, age spots, freckles, and melasma, while improving overall skin tone, texture, and radiance. It can also reduce acne scarring and post-acne discoloration, refine pores, and support a smoother, more even complexion over a course of treatments — all with a non-invasive, low-downtime approach.
-
Most clients describe the sensation as mild warmth or light snapping, similar to a rubber band flick against the skin. It's generally well tolerated without numbing cream, though your therapist can apply a topical anaesthetic beforehand if you have sensitive skin or a lower pain threshold.
-
No significant downtime is expected. You may notice mild redness or warmth in the treated area for a few hours after treatment, similar to a light sunburn, but most clients return to normal activities the same day. Makeup can typically be applied shortly after treatment if needed.
-
Many clients notice a subtle brightening and improved tone after their first session, with more visible results building over a course of treatments — typically spaced a few weeks apart. Full results for pigmentation and texture concerns are usually seen after a series of sessions, as the skin continues to renew over the following weeks.
-
Laser toning is considered a safe, low-risk treatment when performed by a trained provider. Temporary redness, mild swelling, or sensitivity are the most common side effects. Less commonly, some clients may experience temporary changes in pigmentation (lightening or darkening), particularly with sun-exposed or very sensitive skin. A consultation beforehand helps determine if you're a suitable candidate and minimises risk.
