Pre-appointment Preparation
Cosmetic tattooing eligibility checklist
-
Must be 18 years of age in Australia to have a cosmetic tattoo procedure.
-
Unfortunately you cannot have a cosmetic tattoo procedure while pregnant
-
If you are, you can still have a cosmetic tattoo procedure. You will need to make sure you express and dump twice lots of breast milk before feeding
-
If you get muscle relaxants or dermal filler, you will need to wait 2 weeks prior to your cosmetic tattoo in that area and also 2 weeks post to allow your tattoo to heal.
-
(hrt, hormonal imbalances including thyroid, low iron)
These may cause cosmetic pigment to fade quicker and change in color down to the pigment base tone. More frequent appointments to touch up tattoo may be required. -
Most medical conditions still allow you to have a cosmetic tattoo procedure. In some cases, a medical certificate may be required. Please contact me prior if you have any concerns.
-
(gym pre-workout, caffeine)
Please refrain from using any stimulants 24 hours prior to your appointment. These will thin your blood, which causes the wound to reject pigment, often resulting in poor retention. -
Make sure you avoid that area 2 weeks prior and while tattoo is healing.
-
It is worldwide regulation that you are unable to donate blood for 4 months after your tattoo.
